The Gray Catbird: Learning about birds with my Nikon

by Ellen DuBois on 05/09/19

With the arrival of spring comes all sorts of bird songs I've never heard before. Since I've been taking more pictures of birds, I've become even more curious as to what kinds I'm seeing and hearing.

I love grabbing my camera, heading outside and capturing images of birds, nature, blossoms- you name it. (My dog doesn't escape having his picture taken, too.)

This morning, I heard the song of a bird I didn't recognize. It was early and quiet- around 7:30. What else to do but get my camera and head outside?

I believe the bird pictured here is a gray catbird. I am pretty sure of this based on good old google. I looked up gray singing birds northeast and both the photos and descriptions of this interesting bird seemed to match. (If I'm wrong and you know your birds, please let me know.)

Thanks for stopping by!- Ellen
