How do I "social distance" my small music studio? Life during Covid19

by Ellen DuBois on 07/03/20

In the video above, I talk about my music studio and wonder how I'll make it safe for music lessons to resume there.

I went in to pick up some music. It had been a couple of months since I'd walked through the door. It was sad and surreal. So many thoughts swarmed in my head. I wanted to be there yet wanted to leave. My studios are small- the whole place is small, but that didn't matter before. I kept it clean. We had hand sanitizer. Kid's washed their hands before lessons. Parents could wait in the waiting room. Children played with toys on the floor while older siblings took their lessons.

That's all changed for me and millions of other small businesses. But, I won't give up. I won't lose faith. This can work. It's the "how" that's the biggie.

My faith is strong and I know God will help me through this. People will, too. The answers will come and my music studio will reopen.

For now, I am doing the best I can and trying to come up with a plan for all of this to work.

Our students are so important to us. Learning music, teaching them music, is extremely important on so many levels.

Stay safe. God Bless and we'll get through this together.

Ellen

Welcome to my author & photography page.

I live in MA with her fiance and rescue dog, Cooper. I teach piano to over 30 students and am the author of I Never Held You: Miscarriage, Grief, Healing and Recovery. I also run a miscarriage support site. When I'm not teaching, I'm often making inspirational bracelets or outdoors taking pictures. A creative soul with a rescue dog.
