A Poem I Wrote With No Name
by Ellen DuBois on 08/08/20
Poem I wrote on this day in 2011. I didn't remember writing it until I read it a couple of times. Showed up in my FB memories:
I stand in a dream.
The world is magic.
My heart beats
to the rhythm
of the ancients.
Weight upon my shoulders-
replaced by wings of fancy.
I am free
to fly.
I am free
to be me.
I am loved
for who I am.
You do not wish
to mold me.
You do not desire
to change me.
A feeling of acceptance,
I have only known in dreams,
with wings,
and rhythms,
and magic,
and...
You
